The American intenational told German publication 'Bild' that he was aware of the rumours linking him with Jurgen Klopp's side but that he was 100% focussed on the new season with Dortmund.
'Yes, I read that too (about Liverpool's interest). What more can I say? I concentrate fully on the start of the season,' he said.
'I'm very happy in Dortmund. To be clear and concise: I do not think about changing clubs. At the beginning of the year I finally extended my contract until 2020.
'Last season, I established myself in Dortmund with a European top club, which was always my dream as a little boy.'
The youngster went on to explain that he is hoping to become a more regular fixture in the Dortmund side this season under new boss Peter Bosz.
'My next goal is to play consistently,' he said. 'I have no preferred position and I think I am very flexible in the attack.
'Peter Bosz sees me more playing on the outside and I can make a good friend there.'
The 18-year-old would undoubtedly be a fantastic signing for Jurgen Klopp's side though it appears that the German may have to look elsewhere for reinforcements.
