Ronaldo gave Real the victory over Gremio on Saturday, firing home a free kick after 53 minutes to secure the fifth trophy of what has been a record-breaking 2017 for 'Los Blancos'.
Now, Vazquez, who started the game on the bench, has revealed why the Portuguese celebrated the goal with him and it was all down to a Mystic Meg-style prediction from the winger.
'Before the game, I told Cristiano I was sure he was going to score and that's why he ran to me for the celebration,' Vazquez told Real Madrid's official website.
'We're thrilled. It's a team success and I hope we can improve on it in 2018.'
Vazquez's team-mates were equally delighted as they added the Club World Cup to their trophy cabinet alongside the La Liga, the Champions League, Spanish Super Cup and UEFA Super Cup titles.
Defender Raphael Varane said: 'It has not been easy. You have to congratulate the whole team. Winning five titles is very complicated.
'We know how difficult it is to win these finals, we are very happy. We know this team has talent and we will continue to fight to win more titles.'
Meanwhile, Germany international Toni Kroos echoed his sentiments, saying: 'This year has been a long journey, but we had a challenge and knew we could do this.'
Finally, Casemiro could barely hide his delighted as he added another honour to what is becoming a long list.
'When I arrived at Real Madrid I was hungry to win titles,' he explained. That was my dream, I wanted to write my story in the best possible fashion - and I've won 10 already.
