The Portuguese right-back says he used to model his game on the former Barcelona star and is delighted to have joined the club Ronaldinho once played for.
Semedo told Mundo Deportivo, 'since I was little I was always Barca, I always liked them. Ronaldinho influenced me a lot, because back then I played in midfield like he was. He was my idol. I saw their matches and that influenced me a lot.'
The 23-year-old is Ernesto Valverde's only major signing in the current transfer window and will be under a lot of pressure to perform in the upcoming 2017/18 La Liga campaign. However, Semedo has assured fans he is settling in well thanks to his new team-mates.
He said: 'I am adapting very well thanks to the help of my colleagues and everything is very easy. I've come to the best team in the world. It is a team with a great structure, and that at the level of football has high quality players. The day of the presentation I knew that I had fulfilled a dream.'
