Last season, Anthony Martial only scored eight goals in 42 appearances for the Red Devils, as United manager Mourinho left him out of the United squad at times.
Nevertheless, former United defender Silvestre believes in him: "The potential is there. It was a disappointing last season, but with young players sometimes it is difficult to get the consistency", the Frenchman said.
After his big money move from Monaco to Manchester more was expected of him, as he has scored 26 goals in 76 appearances to date at Old Trafford.
"I would love to see him back to his best, with a happy face and ready to work hard", Silvestre concluded.
