Ever since 'Los Blancos' pipped United to Bale's signature, they have been trying to bring him back to the Premier League.
The Red Devils have enquired about the winger at every opportunity and current boss Jose Mourinho even declared an interest in him this summer.
‘If he’s not in the club’s plans, I would try to be waiting for him on the other side and be fighting with the other coaches who would like to have him on their team,’ Mourinho said before the two sides met in the European Super Cup.
Bale has missed 40 of Real's last 60 games due to three different injuries, but United believe Mourinho is the man to help the player overcome his fitness problems and get back to his best.
Despite the ongoing speculation and potential lucrative deal on offer, it is understood Bale wants to stay and fight for his place at the Bernabeu.
If, however, United come in with a big enough bid, Real Madrid could be tempted into selling the man they bought for £85m back in 2013.
