Catalan newspaper 'Sport' had claimed that that there had been an agreement finalised between the La Liga leaders and Griezmann amid a report on Friday from 'Fox' suggesting that the Camp Nou were reserving the No. 7 shirt for his imminent arrival.
However, Ernesto Valverde's side have come out to "strongly deny" this speculation, releasing a statement through their official Twitter account.
It read: "FC Barcelona strongly denies the information that has appeared over the course of the last few hours in different media regarding Atlético Madrid player, Antoine Griezmann, and an alleged deal with our club".
"FC Barcelona expresses its objections in the face of these events and reiterates its full respect for the institution of Atlético Madrid".
