Sancho, who was making his first Bundesliga start since January, curled home from 16 yards to open the scoring after missing a difficult one-on-one opportunity, bringing up his first senior goal for the German outfit.
Marco Reus rounded opposing goalkeeper Romazan Ozcan to double Dortmund's advantage, before Sancho set up Maximilian Philipp with an excellent ball who then fired home the team's third.
The scoring would be finished by Reus after the German got on the end of a cross from Sancho, who would bag his second assist of the game.
The victory moves Dortmund up to third in the table, leapfrogging Leverkusen who drop to fourth.
