The 'Potters' are four points away from safety, and their ten-year stay in the Premier League could come to an end in the remaining few league games.
Despite the tough situation, Lambert is adamant that he could not be more pleased with his side ahead of their trip to Anfield on Saturday.
He said: ''They have given me absolutely everything that's in their bodies. I've asked them to do things and they've done it. We're still in the fight. I've never really had a problem to pick them up - I really haven't.
''We had a chat to see how they felt and, regarding their attitude and everything I've asked them to do, there's no way I can ask for more.''
Lambert identified their greatest weakness as a lack of scoring prowess this season, and noted that they need more attacking gusto in the coming matches.
''If we had a little bit more care at the top end of the pitch we wouldn't be in this position. Little individual things have probably come back and hurt us, but we're still in the fight.''
Despite desperately needing to bag a win at Anfield, Lambert wants his squad to enjoy every moment of the atmosphere and iconic stadium.
He said: ''We know we're going to a really tough play on Saturday. But on any given day, you can win. I think it's an iconic ground to go and play your football. It's something a player should thrive on, going there.''
With Liverpool expected to rest some of their star players head of their Champions League semi-final return leg on Wednesday, Lambert is careful not to assume an easy ride.
He noted: ''They can't rest them all. It's an impossibility. I know we have to go there and try and win the game. We have to be aggressive, we have to play a really high-tempo game ourselves to stay in the game against them.''
