Salzburg and Marseille both got the draw they were most likely hoping for from the day, avoiding the two sides most people have tipped to win the competition, Atletico Madrid and Arsenal, who will face each other.
The draw, which took place in UEFA's headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, was hosted by Barcelona legend Eric Abidal, and the first two teams out of the hat were Olympique Marseille and RB Salzburg.
Marseille progressed to the semis after defeating a different Red Bull side, RB Leipzig, with a 5-3 aggregate win in the previous round, while Salzburg inched past Lazio 6-5 overall.
The French side will play at home first, on April 26, and will then travel to Salzburg on May 3 for the second leg.
The two teams have faced each other only two times in the past, in the group stages of this year's Europa League campaign. Salzburg came out on top on the whole, but not by much. The Austrian side won 1-0 at home in the Stadion Salzburg, while the tie at the Stade Velodrome ended 0-0.
