According to 'EFE', Pelayo's team-mates left Huesca by bus at 3.05pm [local time] and were scheduled to stop off in Zaragoza before embarking on their return trip to Albacete.
LaLiga decided to postpone the match against Huesca that was scheduled to take place on Saturday at 8.00pm.
Pelayo Novo suffered ''a terrible accident at the team's hotel in the morning'' and was transferred to Zaragoza hospital ICU, accompanied by the club's medical staff, Albacete said in a statement.
The club thanked opponents Huesca, for their ''closeness, interest and willingness to help, as well as the League, other clubs, institutions and other sports organisations that have been interested in the player's condition.''
Victor Varela, vice president and CEO of Albacete, explained that the player was ''talking on the phone and leaning on a railing'' when the incident happened.
