"It's impossible to say that I wouldn't return," Alves said recently, speaking to 'Globo TV'. "I would return to Barca if they called me."
These words caused a flood of rumours that the Brazilian was looking for a return to the Camp Nou, however Alves recently posted a message on Instagram, expressing his love for the club but dispelling the rumours.
"Return to Barca? Calm down my people," he began. "I know you miss me, I know that living without the 'Good Crazy' is difficult, and I know that 'AS', 'Marca' and 'Central Lechera' miss me too., but our history was very beautiful, very long-lived, but in terms of football, it's all in the past."
"When I said that Barca is home, Barca is in my heart, and that I would return there tomorrow, it was just simply a demonstration of the love I have for this club," the PSG defender clarified. "Our chapter in this place is in the past."
"I am very happy where I am," he continued. "I have a great challenge there with people who believe in my ability to change things. And just as a reminder, visca Barca!"
