According to 'Sky Sports', Celtic scouts have been keeping a close eye on Werder Bremen's Lennart Thy, who is currently on loan at Dutch club VVV Venlo.
The 26-year-old has scored six goals in the top-flight Dutch league so far this season, whilst his contract at the German club is due to expire in June this summer.
Celtic boss Rodgers said: ''Yes [we are now looking at recruitment]. You have to plan forward. Every club is doing that. We've been doing it for a period of time now.''
He added: ''Myself, Peter Lawwell and Lee Congerton have sat down and had our local and international scouts here to make sure we're focused in on what we're looking for this summer.''
Rodgers however refused to confirm whether Celtic were monitoring the German striker, he said: ''If there was [interest in Thy] I still wouldn't tell you. There is so much speculation around, and players I haven't even heard of sometimes.''
''I think the game has already started linked players to clubs. There is always speculation and that one, probably, is one of many,'' he added.
