Back in June, Real Madrid became the champions of Europe after brushing Juventus aside in the final in Cardiff. That day, Cristiano Ronaldo referred to himself as the 'record man'. He was not wrong...
The 32-year-old striker is the Champions League's record goalscorer. Not content with that, in the clash against Apoel Nicosia, Ronaldo became the competition's most capped outfield player.
On Wednesday, Ronaldo made his 136th start in the Champions League and 145th in Europe, surpassing Real Madrid icon Raul's 135 Champions League starts.
The two goals he put past the champions of Cyprus took his total tally up to 109 goals, 55 of them coming at home. The record for home goals was previously held by Messi, who has 54 to his name.

Rather impressively, if all his records weren't enough, the striker has now scored in Real Madrid's opening Champions League fixture six years running: Man City (2012), Galatasaray (2013), Basel (2014), Shakhtar Donetsk (2015), former club Sporting Lisbon (2016) and Apoel (2017).
Also, Cristiano Ronaldo's second goal of the evening came from the spot, making him the player with most penalty goals scored in the competition.
