It seems that Lopetegui wants to stick with his winning formula as that generation of players grew up and are set to feature heavily in the Spain World Cup squad this year.
David De Gea will be the undisputed goalkeeper at the tournament in Russia this summer whilst Carvajal and Isco have also been named by the Spain boss in his 23-man squad.
For Thiago and Koke, they will certainly enjoy time on the pitch, but the pair are likely to alternate between starting from the bench or featuring in the starting eleven.
Rodrigo will compete with Aspas and Diego Costa for a starring role in attack whilst Nacho is, on paper, likely to have less importance in Lopetegui's plans.
Other former alumni of Lopetegui include Alberto Moreno, Marc Bartra, Inigo Martinez, Illarramendi and Morata who all featured in the qualifying rounds but just missed the cut on the 23-man squad.
