During a Ligue 1 match against Troyes, PSG were awarded a penalty. Both Cavani and Neymar wanted to take the spot-kick but the Uruguayan striker had the final word.
However, Cavani would go on to see the opposing goalkeeper save his effort, sparking a dispute between the two players, dividing the dressing room and fans as well.
Many sided with Cavani, seen as an emblem of the club, whilst Neymar was a relative newcomer and his spoilt arrogant demeanor can often rub people up the wrong, leading to numerous boos and whistle following the incident.
Several months later though and the Brazilian forward addressed the situation on a 'TV Globo's programme, downplaying its significance.
"There is more talk than what it really was. Of course there was a certain tension, some friction with Cavani, but we resolved it quickly.
"Three days after it happened, the people sat down and we talked. We had to resolve it personally, without anyone.
Neymar concluded: "The information [from the press] was exaggerated, I think because it sells more copies. People enlarge stories, talk about things that they shouldn't and that takes away from your focus, harms your concentration".
