The World Cup winner will celebrate a milestone that few others have had the privilege of reaching at the Allianz. with just 41 players in history having reached the 100-game mark in the competition, it is fair to say that Muller is certainly an elite player, though we all knew that already.
Perhaps it is his lacky of flashiness or unorthodox style, but Muller's achievements tend to go osmewhat forgotten, with the 28-year-old barely having filled a column inch in the run up to the game.
Being surrounded by stars hardly helps his cause either, with the likes of Robert Lewandowski and co always likely to demand a higher billing, though that has led to accusations of Muller hiding from responsibility.
the one thing there is no doubt about, though, is Muller's efficiency in front of goal. In his career so far, the forward has found the net 192 times in a decade and yet it is his form at international level that springs to mind upon hearing his name.
Muller is one of those players that is not particularly easy on the eye and occasionally looks like he doesn't belong, but nothing could be further form the truth. There is a reason why he has a World Cup Golden Boot to his name and almost always troubles the Bundesliga's top goalscorers chart.
Heynckes' kind of player
It would appear that Muller is enjoying working under Jupp Heynckes, having scored 14 goals and laid on 15 assists in 29 games under the Bayern boss.
He never seemed to get on with Carlo Ancelotti and didn't suit Pep Guardiola, but his current form is a testament to just what he can bring to a side.
Unorthodox, but effective, Muller is expected to start against Real Madrid and whilst all eyes will be on Lewandowski, it is perhaps Bayern's silent assassin with his five goals in his last seven games that 'Los Blancos' should be worrying about.
