The player in question is Ajax starlet David Neres, who has more than caught the eye in the Eredivisie so far this season.
The 20-year-old has scored eight times and laid on 11 assists in just 16 games in the Dutch top-flight so far this campaign, attracting admiring glances from elsewhere.
Neres is a speedy and technically gifted forward who normally operates on the right wing.
Italian sports news website 'Calcio Mercato' reports that AC Milan have now joined Manchester United in the race for the Brazil U20 international, who only joined Ajax from Sao Paolo last January in a €12m move.
Ajax have so far insisted that they have no desire to sell, but with the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Juventus also paying close attention, it is thought that the youngster could be tempted away from the club sooner rather than later.
It is believed that the Dutch giants would insists that the bidding start at €25m if they were indeed to let the player leave the club.
