Yerry Mina has barely had time to settle in at Barcelona, and he is already being linked with a move away from the club.
In Colombia there are concerns about the defender's lack of game time in Spain. It was clear before he made the switch from Palmeiras that he wasn't going to immediately command a spot at the heart of Barcelona's defence, but nonetheless he was expected to play a little bit more than he has done so far. Up to this point, the centre-back has only started two games for Barcelona, racking up a grand total of 187 minutes for his new club if you include his substitute appearance against Valencia in the cup.
However, the rumours that Mina will leave are coming from Barcelona, not Colombia. According to 'Mundo Deportivo', the new signing could be the one who suffers the impact of La Liga's cap on non-EU players. If reports are to be believed, Barca are lining up Dutchman Matthijs de Ligt as a replacement.
The problem stems from Barca's new signing, Arthur. Spanish clubs are allowed a maximum of three non-EU players in the squad, and Mina currently occupies one of the spots, along with Philippe Coutinho and Paulinho. However, with the arrival of the Brazilian Arthur next season, one of these players must be removed from the squad, and it seems Mina is the man receiving the axe.
